Kelvin Leong takes a look at the players who could be useful additions to Arsenal

What we need: Left-back

Why: With Gael Clichy out injured, Arsene Wenger is relying on Mikael Silvestre and youngster, Kieran Gibbs to slot into the Frenchman's position. While Silvestre's experience and Gibbs' youthful enthusiasm could be advantageous, Wenger could do with an extra substitute in case of injuries.

Who to buy:
Paul Konchesky - The Fulham left-back has enough experience in the top flight to fit right in. He is defensively sound and loves to join his team on the attack. A temporary replacement who has experienced life in London with Tottenham Hotspur.

John Arne Riise - The Roma left-back can operate as a left midfielder as well. He played in the Premier League for Liverpool so he definitely knows how the English game is played. Riise is also a free-kick specialist so it could provide another dimension to Arsenal's attack.

I definitely don't like Riise, he cannot defend which is his primary responsibility.
